During the last few months we have been working behind the scenes.

We have been asking questions and offering support and guidance. people are tired of councils doing little or nothing to put right historic wrong doings. Short term funding with discriminatory outcomes and goals!

After much debate, we are in the process of setting up a group for Gypsy and Traveller people in Doncaster and surrounding areas. This is very new, we don’t have an official constitution or anything yet… but the process as begun.

Objects of Proud Gypsy Traveller

2.1 The objects for which the Company is established are to:

• Provide Gypsy and Traveller communities in Yorkshire a platform to represent themselves.
• Highlight the lives, culture, and traditions of these communities.
• Raise awareness of the issues faced by Gypsy and Traveller communities, particularly in areas of high need.
• Improve life chances through support, education, advocacy, and community development projects.
• Promote the cultures and heritage of Gypsy and Traveller communities through media, events, and other cultural initiatives.
• Promote the racial injustices faced by Gypsy and Traveller communities, with the view to forcing a narrative by the colonial system to acknowledge their part in our poor life chances.
• Disrupt the narratives around Ethnic Gypsies and Travellers, ensuring that they are able to voice their own needs and wants.
